Off-Grid Systems with Batteries
As the name implies, this type of system is not connected to the electric grid, but uses batteries to store its energy for use when the sun is not shining. Stand-alone systems are particularly suitable for remote applications where the cost of running new electric lines is prohibitive. In addition to storage batteries, these systems also have a charge controller, and often an inverter.
